Pressure

Well... be careful what you wish for:) I accepted a position and then was offered another. Then it happened for a second time. So here I am, in a position to chose between 2 jobs. It seems like it should be easy, but not so much. I have written a list of pros and cons to both jobs and I am definitely leaning on one more than the other. However, that would entail staying in California for Christmas and that is a new predicament for me/us. My parents have been incredibly supportive and Josh and though I haven't spoken to my other fam the Vincent's, I know they would be too. It's just a tough spot to be in because my decision will effect others. ARGH! AND I go to the DMV Tuesday to take the test. I have recently had feelings in ways I have not experienced until now.
Thanks everyone for your support!!!

Interview

I had another interview this morning. It was with Maximus/CalWorks. I would be a case manager and work with participants needing services. It sounds very interesting. I was pretty calm and not nervous. This feels like my 30th interview, so I feel like I know what questions to ask, etc... It went well! I interviewed with two people who asked me a series of questions and felt I responded well. Afterwards the gentleman told me I did well and then I was off to the second phase, which I didn't realize until after I got started with the Supervisor. So I should hear back by Tuesday or Wednesday. Either way I still have a new j-o-b, but this one strikes my fancy and I have good feelings about it too:)

California Climate

Funny, I was at the car wash and my aunt Shirley called to see how I was. She asked if we've been scared away yet with this climate. We've been here just about 2 months and have felt 3 earthquakes and now these unfortunate fires. Which by the way, we are only effected in the air quality sense, which isn't so grand, but the least of concerns. It's been very windy here and our pool very unswimmable. We've closed our windows and are only outside to walk from the condo to the car. 950,000 people have been evacuated in surrounding counties from their homes and 8 hours before hearing that is was just over 300,000. I don't feel frightened at all, when you watch television you can see what a joint effort people are putting in and that makes me feel very pleased.
I saw a sign on the freeway today saying: 'Fire evacuees call 1-800 for information about lodging..." Or something along those lines. It feels real and surreal at the same time. I've been in touch with friends living in La Jolla and San Diego and their safe and one is got friends staying with him.
Hopefully the winds will blow up and out.

JOB!

I got a call today offering me a 30 hour/week with benefits J-O-B! It's working in a near by school district as a Special Education Assistant!!!!!!! I asked to negotiate the wage and should hear back soon. I had a good feeling about this one after interviewing with the Director last week. She said 2 things I have never heard from anyone whose interviewed me. 1) 'You are a very interesting woman' and 2) 'I think this is the best answer I have had for this question.' Wow, I still have 2 more interviews this week and hopefully will be hearing from another place soon. I would rather have to mull over multiple job offers than non at all:)
Hip hip hurray!
Oh and my parents are visiting this week, so good news across the board!

Life

Things are picking up a bit here in Brea, CA. Now that I have been working for about 2 weeks, I feel a part of this community and that is a great feeling. I continue to interview for jobs, so there is still hope. I had an interview today with a school district to work in special program and the director thought I was a very interesting woman and wants to make it work. So that felt great, b/c I have been feeling unsure of my capabilities being in this transient state, it's great getting feedback.
