Interesting

Well we traded in our cricket sounding cable box for a new one and boom, it's a nice one. I just posted this for the Freds to see!

Darn Dishwasher and Kitchen Drawers

Well our wonderful crib has displayed problems for us. The most profound of these issues is the dishwasher. If you check out the pics below, you see what I'm talking about!

The next problem we've got is the drawers in the kitchen. Due to flooding of countertop thanks to Dishwasher, I had to pull one drawer. It was impossible to get back in and the piece that guides it simply dropped off. Talk about frustrating!

I would like to redo the drawers in the kitchen via the Ikea methodology, it would be a pain in the butt...but very worth it!

I had/have much experience with drawer construction with the Ikea furniture. So I figured I'd post pics of some of that new furniture I've constructed (with a minute amount of Alisons help), so check em out.

Traffic!

Well, so they say traffic is heavy here. HA! I had my first real heavy duty traffic jam experience here in California on the 57 and 5. Oh my it was fun. Driving back from my interview at the YMCA in Santa Ana, which by the way I think went well. It is approximately 14 miles away from Brea. Well slowly but surely on the way back traffic became heavier and heavier, first it was 3:30pm, oh yippy I was going to miss the rush hour, then traffic got heavier and heavier until all I could literally see were cars to the right, left, front, back, above and below. It took over an hour to get home. But I made it safe and sound. I didn't feel nervous, at this point it's all new and the traffic is amusing, oh but I know this too shall pass. If only I had a picture to share with all of you.
In time.

New Barber

Click this, it's a link to the photos of the 'new' Joshua P. Vincent!

HaHa

This is why I give the reins to Josh, he doesn't repeat pics and he can figure out how to edit them:) LOL!

Family

Today started out a little frustrating and I was a bit cranky. Not really for any reason other than normal stuff, like unpacking and getting rid of the clutter, and finding a job.
Then my aunt Shirley and uncle Al stopped by for a visit and turned my mood around. They are the first family to visit our new place, it was really really nice. We chatted and I learned how they met here in California AND Shirley needed a change and drove out here with a friend for a job. Sounds like maybe it's a Webb thing:)
I feel so lucky to have part of my family out here and so supportive, it makes this transition a lot easier. We'll have to get out to Palm Dessert to visit them soon!
I'll post some pics of us that Josh took soon.

Victory

Well it's nice, Alison and I have the TV setup and we've officially got HDTV now! All I can say is word UP!

Check out these pics of the progress of Ali and I!

Eddie Murphy's Brother aka Charlie Murphy

Alison and I just went to the Improv and saw Charlie Murphy, and it was certainly some funny stuff. It's odd because he tied his humor to problems, and I truly appreciated that! His opening acts were Jay Pharrel and Freeze Love, they were great too! I am very happy, again and again, that I have found this city in California. However, I'm WAY more happy that I have found Ms. Webb! It is literally amazing to me how things work. I never would have guessed that things such as this would have boiled down to this...but here I stand.

Back on track to Charlie it's amazing how much he looks like his brother, and it's cool to sit so close to him. Here's hoping more cool people come and we can see them, within WALKING DISTANCE!!! Life is to good to be Josh Vincent!

Delivery Day

Well today has been an exhausting day and it doesn't seem like we've done that much. We woke up relatively early and got our place in order for something awesome. The moving company was supposed to deliver our furniture, and they did! So now Alison and I have a full condo, but this delivery in essence made our condo our home. It allows us to put distinct signs of self into our home, and that is simply awesome. I've got some rough pictures but they will get better as the process continues.

The funniest thing about today is that I'm sorting through boxes and one of them says A. Vincent Clothes...odd...cool...but mostly funny!

Here are pictures, sorry if there are to many of Alison...I just cannot stop taking pictures of her, once I get started. Photo's will be taken to keep the process going, and they'll be posted.

Day 5 a Day Late

Hey Folks!
Sorry I have been an absentee member of this blog. Dear Vincent's, I will get some more pics of Josh. No one needs to see me getting ready to leave the hotel:) Boring...
Anyway, today I am getting started on the employment search. What I discovered was that I didn't print off resumes prior to leaving Michigan, so I need to go to Kinko's and print several off. After talking with my mom, I am going to look in Brea first, since we have one car at the moment. This part is what I do not like doing! It is such an overwhelming feeling and sorta an inadequate one too. But with the support of everyone and myself, I know I will find something:)

I just cannot wait until our things get here. I am tired of wearing the same 3 outfits over and over. BUT, thank goodness we have a washer and dryer, so at least those 3 outfits are clean:)

Until next time.

Business Class Ali

These are pictures I got of Alison after she was put together in business attire. I really like this outfit she's wearing.

Samsung Refrigerator

Here are pictures of the refrigerator that has many niceties, I like it...but there is fear that it is to big. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

The picture of the living room is one for showing the fun of having cable and internet, but waiting for furniture/TV to arrive!

Further Progress

Today the Time-Warner peeps came and installed our internet and cable. This is really cool! The funny fact, however, is that we don't have a TV here yet...so go figure, eh? We've got a refrigerator, but it is a mammoth...and Alison may not want it anymore. It's a little big, but I like it. I'll post pictures of it soon!

So hurray we've got the internet in our home! The best thing is that the bedroom is cut off, no computers allowed!

Progress

Well it is coming together, oh the joys! Ali and I went to Best Buy and bought a refrigerator last night, whoa is me for the wallet damage. However, it is cheaper to buy it then to rent it! This cooling device is being delivered today between 4 and 6...that makes me happy. I'm excited because it's got an ice maker!

Allegedly between 8 and 10 am tomorrow the cable/internet is being installed. Therefore we will NOT have to venture off to cafes or coffee shops anymore, and that feels good. However, someone we spoke to said that the company is VERY unreliable...so we might be forced to go dish!

Lastly, we put together our Ikea bedside tables and they suck! So we're gonna try to return them and use 2 drawer dressers or this other cool slider table top thing. We'll come to conclusion on that, it's nice because we can just exchange them.

Here's hoping everything goes well!

Day One of Having Home

Today went very well. Ali and I got started at 10:00 am and went to breakfast. After our family suggested meal (Thanks Shirley) we went and met with the landlord (Jack is AWESOME) and he gave us the breakdown and we gave him the check $2,635 took care of us till October rent...which is good!

Next we went to Ikea to buy our new bedroom set, to get there we rented a OLD crappy U-Haul. It took us 3-4 hours to get everything together, and by the end...we were just WISHING we were no longer there! We then were driving home, on the drive home we talked about going to Costco...but we just wanted to get home and assemble everything. Price tag $1,616.55, this is the most I've ever spent at one sitting...aside from buying my car. Life is decidedly crazy as to how that makes me feel.

U-Haul was beckoning us to return the truck, so that's what we did next. We got there 4 minutes after they closed, and that sucked...but it's due back tomorrow, so there is no worry. So we dropped the truck off and decided to go to Costco. We went to Costco and bought a car load of stuff, for an already full car, it was a tough one packing my little gold baby up, but we did it. This one cost us $111.55

In and Out Burger was calling on us to pick up some food, so we did that ($10.43). We got back and sat on our BIG balcony and ate. After getting done we went in and assembled the bed. Which is an easy assembly with some annoying parts! You can see the pictures below of our apartment, and if there are not many...the number will increase, no doubt!

So Alison and I have ourselves partially situated in this beautiful new home (best I've ever lived in) and we are excited to se what God brings us next, be it a problem, or something great! I have faith that it will be the something greats!

Here are some pictures!

Day One as Cali Peeps

It is strange and interesting that Ali and I are now by all means California residents. I never would have imagined one single variant in this current situation! Today we wandered about. First we went to Ikea to attempt to conclude what our bedroom will be like. In addition we were analyzing the furniture thoughts regarding our home, in general. I can't wait for the furniture that we shipped to get here!

Next we were off to Costco to get our membership and assess what we can buy there. It looks as though it will be a very beneficial membership. I find it interesting because neither of us want to support Sam's/Wal-Mart so we had to go Costco. On the trip to Costco we had the GPS/Navigator annoy the crap out of us. I love it because we went to one in Chino Hills, but there is one close as heck to where we live...or so I suppose.

Now we've just got to make more big decisions and juggle stuff around! Simply put I've never had it so good, and the best is yet to come! Thank you Chuck W. for the blessed statement!

Fourth Day aka Final Stretch aka We're HOME!!!

Well the venture to California is finished and all is beyond well. Our awesome landlord is starting our lease up 2 days early and we're quite happy with that. So we've got many pictures from the trip from Utah to California posted. We passed through Arizona and Nevada on the way and it was cool stuff, no doubt. The funny story from today was that we could/can not find the charger or camera cable for the Sony cam and it was frustrating for the sake of not being able to take a lot of good pictures. However, we did stop at Circuit City in Denver and buy something to get the pictures of the camera for 19.99 (salesman was wearing a Lions jersey, that was cool!) but then the camera dies and the charger would be spendy and we were screwed. However, I remembered that I packed a backup camera...however it didn't have a memory card...or batteries. The nice thing is that we got a memory card and the camera takes AA, so we resolved this and can take many more pictures! It was a great feeling to get into town and get into our place and see it, again. The landlord Jack gave us 2 bottles of wine with a custom label. It's cool, but I don't drink.

The hotel we're staying in is the one I stayed in when I was in Brea in June for the interview with BC, so it's just feeling cool. However, BC put me in a nicer room then Ali and I have at the moment.

We went downtown Brea to get dinner, plus we looked around. This is a great place to call home!

Funny Extra

In Colorado we were driving, a bit over the speed limit, and a cop all of a sudden is behind us...with the lights flashing. So I get over, feeling foolish. Next thing you know the cop flies past us...what a sense of relief.

Stretch Three

Well today we're backtracking the blogs. Yesterday we drove from Denver, CO to Beaver, UT. There was some beautiful scenery so we've got lots of pictures to post! I absolutely loved the drive, beauty all about me and driving downhill...can you beat that???

We're now on the fourth and final step of relocation process and things are going well! Enjoy the pictures, once I get them posted.

Day 2

Josh and I made it to Denver about an hour ago and are about to fall asleep. Tomorrow we're off to Beaver, UT! All have run smooth, except a little spooky farm area in Brush, CO. The gps took us on a dusty road in the middle of cow pastures and by creepy farm houses w/ tons of equipment outside. We almost ran over two huge cows that were on the wrong side of the fence. Prior to that, there was a sign that read 'dangerous intersection'. What the hell does that mean? Bu we got back on the road and we were laughing about how we were happy a crazy person didn't jump out.
'til tomorrow

Stretch Two (I was passenger for most of it!)

Well today was an interesting day. Alison drove us from Des Moines to Brush, CO. There we went to a coffee shop named The Gathering Place, which was a church, too. It was very interesting talking to the guy that rung us up for our coffee. He was super nice and talked about the drug problem that is existent in his community, it's sad to see what one mind altering substance can do to people. Hopefully God has helped to save many of them, and will provide help and support for many more. It was really cool to walk around Brush, and we'll post pictures later...when we devise a method to do so, cables are on the truck.

When we left Brush Alison wanted me to drive. She was sick of driving, and understandably so! Anyhow, the GPS did not put us on the proper track and we had to do a U-Turn which was 6 miles long, on dirt roads. Although I feel like a good strong protector, I was having a chicken shit moment. It was just scary, so what the heck. Anyhow, we finally got to our hotel...which is FAR nicer then the one we stayed in last night! Now it's beddy by time for me.

Pictures will be posted, once we can get them on the comps.

here are the pics

Stretch One

Today went by very well, sort of. There was a large amount of lag with getting the truck loaded and us on the road. It turns out we had 3120 pounds of goods shipped, so yeah...we've got plenty. Anyhow, we're in Iowa and I'm about to pass the heck out! We've got photo's that we'll be posted correspondingly to dates, once we find the cable. Anyhow, the travels are treating us well!

It's funny, we passed two exits where we could get to Ronald Reagans hometown, and then a sign for Herbert Hoover. We're getting all presidential!

Today

Well in less then 3 hours (allegedly) the truck will come and be loaded, we'll go and see it get weighed and then get on the road again. This is very exciting and I cannot wait to see America!

Tomorrow

Well tomorrow the adventure truly begins! We'll load up all the electronics into the car, put our bags in there...and say goodbye to the familia to be on the road.

It's less then 24 hours away when the process begins.

Monday, August 13, 2007

2 days, 2 days, are you kidding me...just 2 days?

Here it is, the 2 day point of the move and it's just crazy! The electronics will start to be broken down now, pack our big TV up. We'll have a trunk load of electronics and some other stuff, and that should be interesting...to say the least. Today we'll get our dishes wrapped up by one of my close friends, which is AWESOME!

Life is amazing and I'm so blessed to be in the position I am in. We cannot wait to get on the way, and get to Brea, CA. Life takes people in many different directions and thank God Alison and I are traveling forward...most importantly we'll be together! Amen!

Extra Update: 9:30 pm

Everything is packed, for the most part. I'm just getting ready to break down all electronics and pack em up. It's simply amazing to me that this is all happening in my life. Where did all the good come from? I'll be damned if I don't have faith!

5 days left in Michigan

Well now we're down to 5 days and we'll be out of here. We've still got some packing to do, but we're making good progress. I assume we'll be all wrapped up on Sunday and spend the rest of our time with parents.

I just cannot wait till August 23, when we'll be there!

One Week Left, To Be Exact

Well now there is one week left. I'll put some pictures of our humble abode up for all to see, it's starting to get a little hairy around here!

I'm now considering changing the path selected to get to the home. It's all about cost reduction, and that sucks!

Tuesday, August 7, 2007

In 8 Days

We are making better and better progress. We're up to 11 boxes packed, and 2 Wardrobes packed. But it still seems as though we have not made a dent in the scope of packing.

9..............

Well today is draining me, however it's been good. We've got all shipping supplies needed and our truck is coming at 7-8 am on August 15. So we've got the #1 spot on the truck and they take American Express, so it's on!

I got approved for the loan that will get paid off primarily by my signing bonus, so I'm dropping a good amount of money...yay! However, I was not denied and am in good standing!

I got 5 more boxes packed and still have not made a considerable dent, but that will happen! Life, boy is it good!

Cubic Root of 1000 Days Left

I am loving playing with math ;)

Today has a been a great, unproductive, yet great day. We had some good family time so we've a good amount of pictures. I had possibly one of the greatest parties in my life yesterday, and I'm glad that it could happen.

The pressure is starting to build up, but it's all going to be good!

5th Prime (11) Days Left

Well here it goes, this day is going to keep trucking on. Not exactly off to the best start, but there will be a celebration today for my graduation and departure. It shall be fun to have the Vincent's and Webb's together, again. Then we'll pack further, organize further, and get ready even more. I was together with friends today and realized how big a change this shall be! Talk about dynamic difference that is forthcoming, oh my God!

Update on packaging goods. I've packed all my CDs, many DVDs, and most of my books up. All my CDs are on my iPod so all I've got to do is get a tape adapter for that, so they are all accessible.

Friday, August 3, 2007

12 days left

Well now there is 1/3 of the boxes in the home and the plethora is just going to grow further. I must say that there is enough in the way of boxes for multiple homes. Now we've just got to get stuff accomplished!

Party tomorrow should be a good time, here it goes...another night, living in Michigan.

Thursday, August 2, 2007

13 To Go

13 days to go and I've got no thesis written, nothing packed, and starting to freak out due to need of hustle. I'm happy as hell that progress is about to hit me, and I'll BUST my butt!

Thesis, 130 pages and much more to go!
Boxes, brought to home and gonna be packed!
Moving company, signed off and need to ask for more boxes!
Party, menu planned and guests invited (very small family thing, really)!
Driving, route planned and set in action!
Dr. Elliot Parker, contacted and planning...and that makes me happy!

Plans are set in action, and shall be completed...go Alison and go Josh!

The Fun of It

Well I just figured I'd post this picture for the fun of it. Ali's dad was just relentlessly trying to get a good picture of us, after we ate dinner at the Webb home. This was/is the best Bill got, and I feel it is a great picture of us.

It's crazy that it is up and coming that we'll get pictures of each of us individually or a coupled shot, in states all over the country. T-Minus 14 days and counting, oh my God!

Good time googling

Google
